Tour Itinerary

Nestled in northeastern Spain, Catalonia is rich in history, culture, and renowned art. Its Penedès and Priorat wine regions span over 50,000 hectares of breathtaking landscapes dotted with more than 500 wineries, offering a true taste of Catalan terroir. You’ll explore centuries-old winemaking traditions and unique flavor profiles. Your week includes stays at boutique hotels, with four nights in the tranquil Penedès countryside, followed by three nights of seaside luxury in the vibrant beach town of Sitges. Delve into wine culture, meet esteemed winemakers, and savor local delights.

  • Your adventure begins the moment you step foot at Barcelona International Airport, where our sommelier will be waiting to greet you. From there, you'll be transported to the enchanting Penedès Wine Region, where the vine-covered hills and the promise of exceptional wines set the stage for an unforgettable experience. Nestled within this picturesque landscape is the extraordinary Casa Gran 1771, an exclusive historic farmhouse that will be your haven for the week. This charming estate, nestled in the charming town of L'Avella and affiliated with the esteemed Mont Rubi Winery, promises a blend of luxurious relaxation and a deep dive into Catalonia's winemaking heritage. Get ready to immerse yourself in a week filled with exquisite wines, breathtaking scenery, and the warmth of Catalan hospitality.

Take the afternoon to unpack, relax and get settled at the hotel. Sip wine poolside, bask in the scenery, and raise a glass with fellow travellers.

In the evening, we will host welcome drinks on the grounds of the estate before we enjoy dinner at the wineries restaurant where all of their products are farmed on the estate or selected from the best local farmers in the Penedès region.

  • Start the day off right with a gourmet breakfast before we head off to a historical property in the Penedès.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and charm of Catalonia with a visit to a meticulously preserved XVII century Catalan house at a small winery, offering a glimpse into the region's heritage. Wander through the enchanting garden and savor a delectable barbecue feast provided exclusively for our guests where we will indulge in the finest Catalan wines. This is not just a journey; it's a one-of-a-kind experience crafted to capture the essence of Catalonia and leave an indelible mark on your memories.

In the evening, our destination is a culinary gem celebrated not only for its gastronomic prowess but also for its dedication to sustainability, earning it the prestigious Michelin Green Star. Within this esteemed establishment, we'll relish a dinner crafted from local, zero-mile ingredients, an experience that promises to be both a testament to Catalonia's culinary artistry and a remarkable introduction to the delectable journey ahead.

  • After a nourishing breakfast, we’ll head over to a local Amphora Maker's workshop. Here, you'll have the remarkable opportunity to engage in a clay pot class, where you'll channel your creativity as you shape your own unique piece, infusing it with your personal touch. As you immerse yourself in the artistry of pottery-making, you'll also have the chance to experience a wine tasting like no other. It's an immersive encounter that marries craftsmanship, art, and the pleasures of the palate.

Following this, a delicious lunch awaits, before a few hours of leisure time to unwind and explore at your own pace.

Early evening we will head out on a private tour at a stunning winery where we will wonder through the vineyards and down to their cellar before we taste the wines. Following the tour, we’ll cap off the evening with an opulent multi-course dinner and watch as the sun sets as we look over the vineyards.

  • After breakfast, we will then head to a Olive Oil Farm for a tasting and tour of the property. The Farm produces organic local varieties and by the end of the visit you will be appreciating the importance of olive oil to the Catalan culture and heritage. We will then set the table where you will enjoy a lunch featuring locally sourced products.

We will then head off to the village of Vilafranca where we will enjoy a wine tasting where our sommeliers will host a Spanish wine masterclass paired with local tapas. After dinner you will witness the awe-inspiring display of strength, coordination, and community spirit as local practitioners demonstrate their centuries-old art form of human tower building. Join us for an exclusive glimpse into this vibrant tradition, where you'll be treated to front-row seats for an unforgettable experience.

  • After breakfast, there will we be an optional experience to enjoy a helicopter ride over the Penedès Wine Region and the mountain range of Montserrat. You will return to the hotel, where the entire group will then head off to Sitges, our base for the rest of the week.

We will spend the early afternoon visiting a local winery that offers more than just exquisite wines. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a meal prepared by local fishermen using seasonal catch offering a glimpse into the time-honored traditions of the community, making for a truly unforgettable gastronomic and cultural experience.

You can then spend some time relaxing at the hotel or exploring the town before we head out in the early evening, for a tour of Sitges and discover the Americanos with the help of our local tour guide. During this seafront stroll, we’ll gaze at grand mansions while immersing ourselves in the history of the village while learning how these modernist residences came to be.

We will finish off the evening with dinner where we will have exclusive use of a restaurant where we will be presented by the restaurant owners with a fine feast of authentic Spanish tapas, paired with wines selected by our sommeliers, that will undoubtedly leave a delicious mark on your memory.

  • After breakfast we will head to the enchanting Priorat wine region, where two premium wineries await and you will indulge in a day filled with exquisite tastings along with a delectable lunch.

Early evening we will check out the Santa Tecla Festival, a vibrant and lively celebration that takes place annually in honor of the town's patron saint, Santa Tecla. You will have the opportunity to enjoy "Correfoc," a fiery and exhilarating spectacle wielding fireworks and sparklers, creating a stunning visual display of lights and flames. This tradition is deeply rooted in Catalan folklore and adds a unique and electrifying element to the celebration.

The rest of the evening is yours to explore or head out for dinner but be sure not to miss the evening fireworks which will finish off the Santa Tecla celebrations.

  • Connect with your mind, body, and natural surroundings during an optional blissful sunrise yoga session.

Experience the essence of the region with a visit to a Vermouth producer, where you'll witness the meticulous craft behind this beloved Catalan spirit. We will then venture to a renowned winery and vinegar producer, where we will learn more about how vinegar is made and why wine production is an important part of the process. You will then enjoy a light lunch featuring the producers vinegar, expertly paired with the winery's finest selections.

Late afternoon will head out on on a wine tour of the Penedès Wine Region, where we will visit two wineries. Long considered one of the country's best wine-producing regions, it is also one of the most ancient viticultural areas in Europe. While cava predominates wine production, the region also produces highly coveted oak-aged reds.

A private wine tour and cava tasting sets the stage for an afternoon. After a sparkling greeting, we will tour the prestigious grounds of a cava producer to learn the ins and outs of cava production while enjoying private tastings throughout the estate.

We will then enjoy a 4x4 excursion as we make our way to a winery where vines have been cultivated for more than two thousand years; a settlement inhabited since ancient times; an ancestral home created from an old farmhouse; an area of agricultural production dedicated without interruption to viticulture.

Once our tour is complete we will enjoy a dinner on the grounds of the estate. This experience promises to be something you will never forget and a spectacular way to finish off the tour.
